Galloway & Porter: RIP
It was with sadness that I walked by my favourite bookstore, Galloway & Porter, in the city yesterday. The curtain has finally been drawn on May 31 on this store. There goes another shop where I could get theological books at a real bargain. As I look back, I must have purchased more than 60 books from this bookstore over the numerous trips to Cambridge over the past few years.

I hope the Christian section of MPH at One Utama will not suffer similar fate.
Closing down of Christian bookstore is a worldwide phenomena. I have witnessed this in Singapore. Thanks for Amazon.com, Booksdepository.com, Christianbooks.com, etc.
What to do... The only way is to change the business. Technology does have fatal effect on certain method of doing business.
Hi Sze Zeng,
I think retail sector is badly hit in the UK. Last year, Borders in Cambridge closed down. Now, Galloway & Porter. I guess these onsite retailers just could not match the orice offered by virtual retailers, like you said.
But on the bright side, more Starbucks outlets have been opened in Cmabridge :-)
