Coffee and Book...This is Life!
I must say this was what I really enjoyed last week while I was in Singapore: Having a nice cup of coffee and reading a book at the same time.
The aroma from the coffee stimulates the brain...and the book energises the thought process....However, I went away disappointed by Seyoon Kim's work as reviewed by Warren Carter here.
But the coffee at The Coffee Connoisseur was great!

Wah!! So nice... :)
KY, thanks for telling. Now I save one shelf space!
From the review, it seems that Seyoon is desperate wanting to say something. And since there is nothing new to say, so he twist a theme (imperial rhetoric) to his own definition so that he can at least say something.
NT scholar doesnt need a girl friend to enjoy life?,,,,well done
Hi Sze Zeng,
Yeah - in my opinion, I am disappointed with Kim's book. I think he tries too hard to argue against the imperial/political reading.
Still an important book to read if one is interested in political reading of Paul.
Hi Sceptics,
Haha...who say the budding NT scholar does not need a girl friend? He needs a wife in order to get a pay rise (read: spouse's allowance). Haha....
